Everyone’s a designer!
A whole new clutch of aircraft interiors designers was created on AIM Altitude’s stand at this year’s AIX in Hamburg.
Structured around a conceptual development project, the stand featured a Virtual Experience Studio, where visitors were able to customise an aircraft Door 2 scene to their own creative taste. The ‘white space’ virtual reality model used state-of-the-art VR technology to bring alive the aircraft interior. It was unclear, however, who was having the most fun: those wearing the VR goggles, selecting different colours, trims and finishes; or those watching on the big screens, viewing the designs being generated.
Balancing concept with reality, AIM Altitude was also displaying a new ‘Next Generation Galley’ for the 777X. The features introduced have been developed with all stake holders in mind, and bring added value to the user: enhanced maintainability, configuration flexibility, and an updated galley aesthetic that will blend with the new generation aircraft interior, like the 777X, and also improve passenger perception.
The stand was a great representation of how AIM Altitude itself works, complementing creativity with engineering and manufacturing expertise, to enable concepts to be built, certified and function in the aircraft environment.
