The enabling works for the new factory at Byfleet are well under way.
An additional 31,000 square feet of capacity is being created adjacent to the existing Galleys and Stowages facility. The demolition of existing structures has been completed, as have the earthworks, drainage and foundations, for this major project. Work to the car parking has started and the steelwork is currently in fabrication.
Wayne Ball, General Manager of Galleys and Stowages at AIM Aviation, says: “We have been communicating closely with the local community and are pleased to say that the judicial review period ended with no objections. We are on target for the works, which will take place in two phases, so as not to interrupt our existing production schedule. The entire project is planned to be completed by late summer 2014.
