AIM Altitude engineering apprentices last night represented women in STEM with their ‘Girls with Guts’ presentation at the Fearless Females Continued Professional Development (CPD) event in Bournemouth.
Ella Nulty and Serena Kolowski are both engineering apprentices at AIM Altitude and were speaking at the event to demonstrate that young women can follow a career in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Their presentation covered the history of women in engineering and showed a day-in-the-life-of a female engineer.
The event was a huge success, with an appreciative audience of educational professionals, female CEOs and representatives of local engineering businesses. As a result, Ella and Serena have now been invited to present to local schools in order to help inspire the next generation of female engineers.
Ella Nulty said: “It was a great event and a really good opportunity for us to show that women can work in any industry they choose.”
Serena Kolowski added: “It is amazing to think that we may inspire other young women to challenge stereotypical opinions and to follow their dream career.”
AIM Altitude is immensely proud of all its apprentices and congratulates Ella and Serena on their success at this event.
